Keepers Rest Scarborough
The name Keepers Rest was chosen for three reasons. The bedrooms of the apartment look over the cricket ground and you have an excellent view of the matches being played. The name Keeper was after the Wicket Keeper.
As a seaside town with have a beautiful lighthouse at the end of the pier and Keeper came from Lighthouse keeper.
Finally, as a working harbour we also have a Watch Keeper who gives instructions to vessels entering and leaving the harbour our final Keeper. After a hard working week we all need a Rest, hence, Keepers Rest. We hope you enjoyed our little story.
Location.
Keepers Rest is situated in North Marine Road and is ideally located for North Bay, Peasholm Park, Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Open Air Theatre, whose acts have included Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, Lewis Capaldi and many more. The Hollywood Plaza cinema is at the end of the Road. It's a 10 minute walk into town and 20 minutes to the South Bay with the Famous Harbour Bar and a selection of arcades, Rock shops and the beautiful Sandy Beach. The North Bay is the quieter of the two bays with restaurants cafes and for the more adventurous a hire shop for paddle boards, surf boards and lessons, if needed.
What to expect.
Before you arrive the apartment will be cleaned by the recommended enhanced Covid cleaning process. This is to protect both ourselves and our guests. We will welcome you at the door and answer any questions and queries you may have. A welcome pack is provided and all equipment operating instructions are available. All bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided.
Local information leaflets and visitors attractions are also available. Parking scratch cards are provided and a map of the parking zones is in the information folder.
The apartment is on the first floor up one flight of stairs Keepers Rest. There is no operational lift available.
